Helen RatteePrior to joining Coburn Ventures in March 2006, Helen spent a year and a half at Citigroup Asset Management (acquired by Legg Mason in December 2005) as a portfolio research analyst covering the tech sector. She focused on the software sector and also covered some large cap hardware names (like Dell, HP and IBM).
Previously, Helen spent over 5 years as an equity research associate on the sellside, initially at CIBC World Markets in Toronto, Canada. At CIBC, she supported a senior analyst in the launch and on-going coverage of the North American EMS sector, and also launched independent coverage of the PCB sector. In mid 2002, Helen and her husband moved to New York City where she joined UBS as part of the equity research team covering the SPE sector, and first met Pip and his global tech strategy team. While at UBS, she co-authored several reports on the SPE industry based on the team’s proprietary research and analysis. Helen has an MBA from Schulich School of Business (York University) in Toronto, Canada, and an Hon. B. Sc. from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. She has been a CFA charterholder since 2002.
